For more than 35 years, Silver Horizons has helped the community’s lowest-income seniors meet their basic needs and remain in their own safe and secure home.
If you, or a loved one, is in need of help through our Home Services program, please call the Department of Senior Affairs at 505-764-6400.
Silver Horizons proudly partners with the City of Albuquerque/Bernalillo County Department of Senior Affairs Home Services Project to provide the Home Safety Modifications and Minor Home Repairs program. Silver Horizons works to purchase and provide building materials and safety equipment in order to upgrade and maintain the homes of seniors in an effort to keep them home — a place that is familiar and comfortable.
The Home Safety Modifications program is able to help you, or a loved one, install mobility and safety upgrades to the home, including building wheelchair and walker accessible ramps, grab-bars, handrails, hand-held showers, raised toilet seats to ensure a safer and more manageable bathroom, bath and shower seats, bed rails, benches and more.
All Home Safety Modifications projects are completed to ensure the health and safety of the senior living in the home with the intent of allowing them to continue to live there in a safe manner while maintaining a better quality of life.
Silver Horizons provides materials for the Minor Home Repairs program. Repairs can range from fixing broken locks, windows and doors to repairing leaking plumbing, broken faucets and malfunctioning toilets. The Home Safety Modifications and Minor Home Repairs program can also assist with seasonal swamp cooler services.
Each year, Silver Horizons completes more than 300 home repairs working alongside the Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs and helps make more than 650 home safety modifications, including access ramps and grab-bars to help seniors stay in their homes.
